Army and Air Force personnel practice sling-making as part of a pre-deployment first aid course at Randwick Barracks, Sydney, prior to travel to the Solomon Islands to participate in Operation Anode. From left to right: Private N G Tasker of 145 Signal Squadron, Craftsman D J Scully of 145 Signal Squadron, Leading Aircraftman G E Turner of 381 Expeditionary Combat Support Squadron (381 ECSS), and Corporal S W Atkinson of 381 ECSS. Operation Anode was Australia’s military and policing contribution to the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI).
