Description

Australian soldiers serve themselves food at a Sunday barbecue, in the Mess Hall at Camp RAMSI. Left to right: three unidentified personnel, Musician Deb Cotton of the Royal Military College (RMC) Band, Musician Rachel Thorne of the RMC Band, and two unidentified personnel. Camp RAMSI was the military and police headquarters of the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI), established at the former Guadalcanal Beach Resort near Honiara. Australian infantry from 2nd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), and troops from the Force Support Battalion, both deployed from Townsville under Operation Anode, were based at Camp RAMSI. They provided security and logistical support to the multi-national police force.
