Description
Tongan troops at a watch-post mounted on a container near the beach at Camp RAMSI, the major base used by the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). Australian military forces participating in Operation Anode worked with soldiers from New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea, and police from Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji, Cook Islands and Kiribati, under the banner of Operation Helpem Fren. ‘Helpem Fren’ means ‘help a friend’ in Solomons Pijin, the lingua franca of the Solomon Islands.
