Description
The Australian national flag flies on the jackstaff of HMAS Diamantina [II] in Honiara port, Guadalcanal. Local ferries and boats are tied up at the wharf. The stationing of Australian ships in the harbour of Honiara, capital of the Solomon Islands, was a visible indication of the presence of the multi-national Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI), and of Australian military forces under Operation Anode.
