Description

Australian soldiers, including members of C Company, 2nd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), attend a concert at Camp RAMSI near Honiara. Some soldiers sit on top of a Unimog truck for a better view. The concert included performances by Sydney-based rock band The Tommy Flowers, and the band of the Royal Military College, who travelled to the Solomon Islands as part of a ‘Tour de Force” to entertain troops and build relations with local people. Australian military forces were deployed to the Solomon Islands under Operation Anode, Australia’s contribution to the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). They provided security support to the RAMSI policing operation, and were based at Camp RAMSI, a camp established at the former Guadalcanal Beach Resort.
