Informal portrait of Signaller Gavin Byfield, of 547 Signals Troop, 101 Signals Squadron, 1st Joint Support Unit (1JSU), relaxing at Camp RAMSI near Honiara. The Signals troop, based in Enoggera, Qld, was deployed under Operation Anode, Australia’s contribution to the multi-national Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). It was responsible for providing communications and information systems, including radio, telephone and computer links, to RAMSI military forces and the Participating Police Force.
