Lieutenant Commander (Lt Cdr) Ambrose Maynard Dudley Lampen, DSC, Royal Navy (RN), standing with pointer conducting a class on the stability of ships, at the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Damage Control and Fire Fighting School at HMAS Penguin, Balmoral. Lt Cdr Lampen was on loan to the RAN from the RN and he commanded the School from 1945-1956.
