US collapsible water cateen and cover : B Sanders, RAAF
Olive green water 2 quart collapsible canteen and cover with webbing strap. The canteen is square with a screw top in one corner. One side is marked in raised lettering 'FOR WATER ONLY'. Below this is a small square is the NSN number, a broad arrow and the words 'NYLEX 1994'. The olive green nylon cover is lined with grey fleece and has a instruction label sewn inside the flap. The flap is secured with a plastic clip lock and has an opening on the right for the bottle neck. A small pocket is attached to the front for water purification tablets and the cover can be attached to the belt by two clips on the back. The front of the flap is marked 'US' and the back is printed with the specification details. A green nylon webbing strap with black metal clips is attached to either side of the cover.
This object is associated with the service of William (Bill) Sanders. Sanders served with the Royal Australian Air Force, completing his career as Wing Commander.
