Studio portrait of 414 Private (Pte) Edward James Hutchison, C Company, 1st Battalion, of North Sydney, NSW, aged 20 years. A painter prior to enlistment on 1 September 1914, Hutchison embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Afric on 18 October 1914. He later served as a lance corporal and returned to Australia on 3 December 1918 with the Australian Infantry Base Depots.
