Price, Lewis David (Major, b.1896 - d.1974)
Collection relating to the service of Lewis David Price in the First World War (494, Corporal) and Second World War (DX564, Major). Collection consists of three notebooks and a souvenir group.
The first notebook, kept during the First World War, relates to operations of the No 2 Depot, Camel Transport Corps, and includes dates throughout 1918. The notebook contains lists of cameleers and camel strength. The second notebook, kept during the Second World War, relates to operations of 7th Division Headquarters, and includes a handwritten Arabic-English dictionary, sketches of rail and marshalling lines at Wadi Sarar, notes on administrative forms, procedures and requirements, and notes on weapons. The third notebook, also kept during the Second World War, relates to operations in both the Middle East and Australia, as a member of 7th Division Headquarters and the Darwin Mobile Force, and includes notes and lists on ammunition and weaponry, dunnage tables, administrative notes and procedures. The group of souvenirs relates to the 30th Anniversary Celebrations of the Darwin Mobile Force, in Brisbane 23 November 1968. The souvenirs are housed in a small folder, and include a photograph, an honour roll, a list of attendees, and a menu.
