Fairbrother, Richard
Collection relating to the Bougainville Peace Monitoring Group experiences of Richard Fairbrother of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in his capacities as a Senior Civilian Monitor with the Monitoring team at Arawa (MT-A) and as Chief Negotiator (CNEG) on the island of Bougainville in 2000, and again from September 2002 to January 2003.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of one Department of Defence issued Field Survey Notebook, one Department of Defence issued Message Notebook, and one notepad. The notebooks and notepad record the working notes of Fairbrother. They detail meetings with, and speeches of, prominent members of the Bougainville independence movement, meetings with local women's groups, patrols, insertion and extraction operations, and weapon observations.
