Description

Outdoor portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) James (Jim) McBryde, 1st Field Company, Australian Engineers, of Mackay, Qld. Lt McBryde worked as a mining engineer prior to enlisting on 6 March 1915. He embarked for service overseas aboard HMAT Berrima (A35) from Sydney, NSW, on 26 June 1915. Lt McBryde was killed in action on 13 September 1916 near Zillebeke, Belgium, aged 31 years.
