Description

Group portrait of five unidentified artillerymen, members of an unknown American unit. The unit was in Queensland to acclimatise to tropical conditions before being sent for service in Papua New Guinea. Each man is wearing an undershirt indicating their place of training in the United States of America. The logos from left to right are:- Fort Crook, Nebraska; Battery G, 217th Coast Artillery (A4); 32nd Infantry, Antitank; Fort Ord, California; Coast Artillery, Camp Hahn.
