Studio portrait of 2nd Lieutenant (Lt) James Clark Roberts. Roberts served as a Lieutenant with the 1st Victoria Contingent during the Boer War. Lt Roberts died of wounds at Rensburg on 13 February 1900 in the same action in which Major George Eddy and Corporal Alex Ross were killed.
