Description

A message from Flying Officer Cocks to his family and fiance in Australia recorded just prior to his posting to Nos 181 and 183 (Typhoon) Squadrons RAF Fighter Command, North West Europe. 'Voices from overseas' messages were played regularly over ABC radio in Australia. Cocks as a flight lieutenant pilot was shot down over Niijmegen, Netherlands, February 1945. He became a prisoner of the Germans for the duration of the war.
