Description
RAF blue wool Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) cap with a soft pleated crown, turned up brim at the back, and a black leather peak lined with green leatherette. The cap has a black mohair band, black patent leather chin strap secured by two flat buttons covered in black cotton, and a brass RAF other rank's cap badge. There is a pair of black rivetted ventilation holes on each side of the crown. The cap has a blue-grey polished cotton twill lining. A white manufacturer's label is attached to the inside back and is printed in ink with a broad arrow and '292/19/N553 (19E) 1943', together with the size '6 1/4'. The lining is also stamped in black 'W (broad arrow) D'.
