Description
Pair of dark blue woollen breeches with broad scarlet stripe down the outer leg seams. They feature a single inner fob pocket, and are buttoned for the attachment of braces. The inner waistband is lined with white cotton.

These breeches were worn by Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson who was Australia's Governor General from 18 May 1914 to 6 October 1920. He became Viscount Novar on his return to Great Britain in 1920 and was appointed a knight of the Thistle in 1926. These particular breeches would have been worn as part of Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson's formal dress.
