Description

Khaki cotton drill shirt dress with two breast pockets and a belt with a metal buckle. The unlined dress has nine yellow buttons down the front and a horizontal panel has been inserted above the waist. The back of the dress is made with a yoke and inverted pleat. On the left sleeve is a green and gold woven badge with 'WOMENS LAND ARMY' around the outer edge and with a gold sheaf of wheat in the centre. The badge has a brown border, which is topped by a red King's crown. Below this are three circular woven red service stars to indicate three years of service. There is a woven 'A.W.L.A' title on each shoulder strap. Printed in ink on the cloth maker's label at the collar is 'N. 388 1943' and under this 'MADE IN AUSTRALIA'.
