Pair service dress trousers : Private R J Powney, 2/1 Field Regiment
Description
Pair khaki wool serge other rank's service dress trousers with welt pockets in each upper side seam. There are six white metal fly buttons and a further six white metal buttons sewn to the outside of the waist for the attachment of braces. The pocket bags and waist lining are of unbleached calico.
History / Summary
This uniform was worn by NX3492 Private (later Lance Sergeant) Ronald John 'Jack' Powney, who served with 2/1 Field Regiment. Powney was born in 1915 and enlisted in Marrickville, Sydney, on 23 October 1939. He was discharged on 23 September 1944.
