Identified from the names on their kitbags are (front row, left to right) are: 29815 Gunner (Gnr) Ernest William Twartz, of St Kilda, Vic, 119th Howitzer Battery; 30011 Gnr Ernest Wilfred Taylor, of Adelaide, SA; unidentified; 29981 Gnr James Oliver McCutchan, of Richmond, Vic; 30009 Gnr John Robert Gray, of Surrey Hills, Vic, (later killed in action on 21 June 1917 in France); unidentified; 29943 Gnr Reginald Edward Forsyth, of Croxtan, Vic; 29951 Gnr Horace Gordon Hammond, of Paddington via Alberton, SA; 29988 Driver (Dvr) Ernest Robert John Naismith, of Paradise, SA; unidentified. Excepting Gnr Twartz, the identified gunners are members of the 120th Howitzer Battery. A gunner on left hand side of photo is holding a Union Jack.
