Description
Members of the 4th Reinforcements, 13th Machine Gun Company, standing in a group waiting to embark on the troopship RMS Orontes. Identified, left to right; front row sitting; 336 (later 336A) Private (Pte) Alfred John Wright, of Brisbane, Qld. Pte Wright was KIA on 24 May 1918 in France while serving with 3rd Machine Gun Battalion, aged 21. 339 Pte Joseph James Neddrie, of Rockhampton, Qld, holding a Union Jack flag; the next soldier has a kitbag in front of him which has the number 25 on it, and is probably 325 Pte Lawrence Kenneth Cohen of Lismore, NSW. 341 John KeltieHenderson of Brisbane, Qld is listed as acting corporal on the embarkation sheets and is probably the soldier standing at far right.
