Description
Members of possibly Field Artillery Brigade, grouped informally waiting to embark on the troopship RMS Orontes. Most of the soldiers have their personal stirrups attached to their epaulettes and are wearing jodhpurs and leather leggings. A soldier seated slightly off centre is displaying his ‘hard tack biscuit’ and the soldier behind and to the left of him has a gunner symbol in the centre of his cap.
