Description
Members of the 9 h Reinforcements, 2nd Machine Gun Company (2MGC), standing on the wharf near the stern of their troopship HMAT Orsova (A67). There is a railway goods truck to the left back of the group and a horse, wearing a nosebag and harnessed to a cart. Identified front row, second left, 549 Private (Pte) William Andrew Love Craig, a farmer of Teal Point, Kerang, Vic. Second, far left in front of the rail truck, standing at ease with his kitbag to the right of his feet, is 553 Pte Alfred William Gale, a baker of Bendigo, Vic.
