Description
On board the troopship RMS Osterley before it left the wharf. On the second deck from left to right: three ships officers dressed in tropical whites; one male civilian talking to a female civilian in a light coloured suit; female civilian with black dress and widow’s veil; two army officers; soldier; male civilian talking to ship’s officer; soldier; male civilian with parcels in his arms; female civilian (possibly a nanny) with two small boys dressed in sailor suits and bare feet; nurse with veil; three nurses wearing caps and two ship’ stewards, wearing white jackets over dark waistcoats and dark trousers. On the top deck the lifeboat to the right is name ‘Glasgow’.
