Other Ranks jacket : Turkish Army
Turkish Army Other Ranks coarse green cotton slightly flared jacket, which is a very similiar pattern to the German Army 'Bluse' jacket, but is significantly inferior in quality. This single breasted jacket has a stand and fall collar, fastened with a single steel hook-and-eye fitting. There are five concealed grey zinc buttons down the front opening. A pocket with a buttoned scalloped flap has been let into both of the front panels below the waistline. There are no shoulder straps or insignia. Each side of the front is faced with self fabric, which is bound with bright yellow-gold fabric trim. The inside seams to the sleeves also have the same yellow-gold binding. The pockets are lined with natural plain weave cotton. The rear of the jacket has a central seam and no vent.
Probably collected by the Australian War Records Section in Palestine.
