Khaki coloured knitted cap comforter with pompom.
History / Summary
Worn by Lieutenant Herbert Arthur Embling while serving in South Africa. Embling was born in Ballarat in 1869. In 1900 he enlisted in the Victorian Imperial Bushmen contingent and sailed with them to South Africa in May. Embling served with the contingent for its entire tour, returning to Australia in June 1901.
