Description
The grave markers of Lieutenant (Lt) Charles Findlay and Captain (Capt) George Ernest Johnston both of the 8th Battalion. Lt Findlay, a bootmaker from Ballarat North, Vic and Capt Johnston, a coach builder from Colac, Vic both embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Benalla on 19 October 1914, Lt Findlay with the rank of Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) and Capt Johnston with the rank of Colour Sergeant. Both were killed in action on 23 August 1918 and were buried in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres.
