Identified back row left to right: 8812 Private Alan Edgar Johnson from Adelaide, killed in action 8 August 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux, France, while serving with the 2nd Battalion Australian Machine Gun Corps; 8804 Driver Thomas Francis Dollard from Port Lincoln, returned to Australia and discharged at own request on 21 August 1917; 7733 Driver Harold Bayard (Bay) Piper from Fullerton, returned to Australia 11 April 1919; Sergeant Major, possibly 5906 William John Naish from College Park, returned to Australia 7 September 1919 with the rank of Captain; 7887 (8799A) Driver Joseph Crompton from Marryatville, discharged in London on 28 September 1919; S250 Private Guy Satterswaite Devonshire from North Adelaide, returned to Australia with the rank of Lieutenant; and 8802 Driver Hartley William Shillabeer from Kilkenny, returned to Australia 22 November 1918 and discharged medically unfit for further service.
