Volunteer officer's waist sash : Australian colonial Military Forces
Description
Volunteer officer's full dress silver bullion net waist belt lined with soft cream leather. Each end of the sash has a shorter piece of the same net, also lined with leather, to which is attached a large scarlet and white silk tassel suspended from a white silk plaited head. The sash fastens with a plain clasp concealed under each end . Its length can be adjusted at one end by means of a strip of cream silk webbing that is held in place by a silver clasp and a leather keeper.
