The statue of Ataturk at the Çanakkale Sehitleri Aniti (Çanakkale Martyrs' Memorial) based on a well-known photograph (see A05319) of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, then Lieutenant-Colonel Mustafa Kemal, looking out over the battlefield from a trench at Anzac. The huge Turkish masonry baldachin, 42 metres high is in the background.
