Motor launch and small vessel, with text
Description
A Royal Australian Air Force air-sea rescue launch and small vessel. Above the drawing, Annand has included a letter to his wife announcing his return on three weeks leave. The letter writes:
" Roll out red carpet arriving Sydney flying boat late Wed afternoon 3 weeks leave don't meet me don't repeat anything including letter posted Saturday jumping for joy. Passing through Bris. Wed. would like see you flying boat base contact Quantas [sic] for time."
Torres Strait was a base for defensive and offensive operations.
