Studio portrait of 3011 Private (Pte) Charles Bogie Young (later MM), 51st Battalion, with his wife, Elizabeth and son, John. Pte Young, of Bolgart, WA (originally of Newport, Scotland), enlisted on 7 August 1916 and embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Argyllshire on 9 November 1916. He was killed in action on 24 April 1918 and memorialised at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
