Description

Brown leather belt faced with two parallel bands of silver bullion thread, fitted with adjustable silvered cast buckle featuring a Queen Victoria crown and cypher within a wreath. The belt has a pair of 25 mm wide sword slings of brown leather, similarly faced with silver thread on both sides. The shorter, forward sword sling is fitted with a metal sword clip, stamped 'B & S', and sits over a half circle of leather (also faced with two bands of silver thread) which is designed to prevent wear on uniform, while longer rear sling loops around belt, allowing adjustment. The end of each sling is fitted with a post-and-slot arrangement for attaching to the wearer's scabbard. The maker's details are stamped in gold inside the belt.
