Studio portrait of Commander William Henry Farrington Warren, HMAS Parramatta. Commander Warren was appointed to HMAS Parramatta on 17 July 1912 and rising through the ranks became Acting Commander in August 1916 and Commander on 1 April 1917. From June 1917 he was senior officer in command of the Australian destroyer flotilla. Originally of Pitcaple, Scotland, his home port was Sydney, NSW. He accidentally drowned in Brindisi Harbour, Italy, 13 April 1918 aged 40 years.
