Wedding portrait of Isabel Margaret Platt-Hepworth and VX41 Captain Alfred Thomas Jakins Bell. Captain Bell proposed to Isabel Platt-Hepworth ten days before they were married at St Mark's Anglican Church, Darling Point. She made the dress in this very short time, and, due to wartime restrictions lent it to five other brides. The veil was also lent to other brides, separately to the dress. The dress is held in the collection of the Australian War Memorial at REL32860.002.
