Rough wooden crosses mark the original graves of 405250 Flying Officer George Hockings, No 4 (Army Co-operation) Squadron (4AC Squadron) RAAF, who was killed in action, aged 26, on 22 December 1942 while on operations over Papua New Guinea; and NX100719 Major William Francis O'Hara, 2 Australian Air Liaison Section, who was killed in action, aged 31, while on operations over Papua New Guinea on 22 December 1942.
