Studio portrait of 2875 Corporal (Cpl) John Kenneth Myles, 45th Battalion. A coachbuilder of Arncliffe, NSW, he enlisted on 21 July 1915 and sailed with the 9th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Argyllshire on 30 September 1915. On 5 April 1918, whilst fighting near Dernancourt, France, Cpl Myles was wounded and taken Prisoner of War. He subsequently died from his wounds in a German military hospital on 11 May 1918, aged 22 years.
