History / Summary
Gordon Murfield Wymark was born in Gosford, NSW in February 1918 and on the outbreak of the Second World War was living in Yass, NSW. On 13 June 1940 he enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force and was assigned the number NX30579. He served overseas with 1 Signals Corps and ended the war with the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2. He served in the Middle East and Greece as well as in the New Guinea and the Pacific campaigns. He was discharged on 6 November 1945.
