Description
VX48629 Major John Oulton Rosson, 13th Australian General Hospital (left, wearing glasses) and another unidentified Australian prisoner of war (POW) having a meal in the Officers' Mess in Roberts Barracks, part of Changi POW camp. On the table are half empty plates of rice, empty tins that probably held bully beef and jam, and fresh bananas. This image was secretly taken by Major John Rosson and the camera and negatives were kept hidden from the Japanese throughout his internment.
