Ensign Midget A/D camera : Trooper J J E Nicholas, 7 Division Cavalry Regiment
Ensign Midget A/D (All Distance) pocket size camera. Made from pressed steel and finished in black. It has chrome plated, brass fittings. The back is removable and is secured by a sliding plated catch, fitted to the side. The lens is connected to a black front plate which is attached to a collapsable bellows and a chromed plated brass frame. The rectangular steel view framer is rivetted to the back of the camera and swivells through 90 degrees when in use. Fitted to the top of the camera is a plated, folding, two piece view framer. The lens is 8mm in diameter and has a minimum shutter speed of 1/100 second. A small prismatic view finder is fitted to the lens plate and can fold out from behind the lens when required. A decorative brand name plate is rivetted to the lens housing which reads 'ENSIGN MIDGET'.
