View in flight of a Sioux ('Possum') observation helicopter carrying Lieutenant Colonel Ron Grey, the Commanding Officer of 7 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), as it prepares to land at the Horseshoe feature during Operation Cung Chung II. The CO is returning to the base after planting a metal flagpole and the pennants of his battalion and supporting arms on the highest point of the Long Hai hills on the occasion of 7RAR's 5th birthday, 1 September 1970. The pilot of the helicopter is 1200952 2nd Lieutenant David Herbert Earley of 161 (Independent) Reconnaissance Flight.
