Studio portrait of WX11029 Captain (Capt) Charles William (Charl) Atkinson, Audit Section, Australian Army Pay Corps, of Floreat Park, WA. Capt Atkinson enlisted on 7 February 1941. He was later promoted to the rank of Major (Maj). Maj Atkinson was captured by the Japanese and later died of illness in Malaya on 15 May 1942 whilst a prisoner of war. He was 27 years of age.
