Description

Signalman 'Jock' Fraser, Royal Signals, examining captured Indonesian light machine guns at Sungai Rambai police compound. He is armed with a Stirling .9mm sub machine gun (standard British weapon). Sig Fraser served in Malaya with the 208 (Comwel) Signal Squadron, which was comprised of both Australian and British signallers. This unit provided communications support to all units of the 28 (Commonwealth) Infantry Brigade, wireless detachments from this unit supported 3RAR during operation 'Flower', in which 52 Indonesians and their arms were captured.
