Studio portrait of Sister Annie Eliza Helen Thomson. Sister Thomson was one of a group of nine nurses, known as the Victorian Nursing Sisters, who went to South Africa in March 1900 aboard SS Eurylas with the 3rd (Imperial Bushmen's) Contingent. They served at Salisbury, Fort Charter, Bulawayo, Hillside, Mafeking, Springfontein and Tuli.
