Description

A group of local women wearing head garlands made from flowers, at celebrations held to mark the first anniversary of the multi-national Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). Two small girls hold signs reading: 'Thank you RAMSI' and 'RAMSI is here no fear!!'. Women, who are the traditional land owners in Guadalcanal, played an important role in efforts at reconciliation between different militant groups in the Solomon Islands.
