City street portrait of the Australian artist, Mr. Herbert Badham. Badham was born in 1899 and studied at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney between 1925 and 1938. In 1942 he applied to become an official war artist but was not selected. He was passionate about art education and published a book, A Study of Australian Art in 1949. He died in 1961.
