"Xmas Day in Gallipoli"
Description
Two part cartoon submitted for inclusion in "The Anzac Book", a publication which was produced in 1916 from works produced by soldiers on the Gallipoli peninsula. The top cartoon shows soldiers rummaging through a large box of gifts and comforts (What we hope for) and the bottom cartoon shows soldiers with bully beef tins and a large box of biscuits, trying to sleep or light a fire under a billy in the freezing cold (What we'll probably get). This cartoon was not used in the original publication.
