Studio portrait of the artist, sculptor and poet, Mrs. Grace Taylor (nee Furniss). Grace Taylor was born in Britain and emigrated to New Zealand with her family in 1902. She attended the Elam school of art in Auckland in 1924 and later became a commercial artist, moving to Sydney, in 1926 and on to Brisbane in 1933. In 1942 she became a field officer with the Australian Women's Land Army.
