Studio Portrait of 2898 Private (Pte) Percy Wade, 6th Reinforcements, 43rd Battalion, of Blackwood, SA. Pte Wade enlisted on 19 October 1916 and embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Berrima on 16 December 1916. He was killed in action near Mont St. Quentin, France, on 1 September 1918, aged 30. His brother, 5695 Pte Alfred Edward Wade, 51st Battalion, also served with the AIF. He returned to Australia on 12 May 1919.
