A long back vent, secured by buttons, allowing the coat to be worn by mounted troops, extends from hip level to the hem. The buttons on the coat are black celluloid. The collar of the coat can be turned up and secured by a self fabric tab. The head of each sleeve bears a wool flannel colour patch for 6 Light Horse Regiment AIF. The body of the coat is unlined. The sleeves are lined with cream cotton drill. A maker's printed label, 'P. LEVY / SYDNEY / Size M.S.16 1918', is sewn onto the back of the righthand pocket lining, which is made from white cotton drill. 'MC' and a broad arrow are stamped on the same side of the pocket.
